How to set up Downloader

Once Downloader is installed, a couple of settings are needed before it can install APK files on your device.

1. Allow unknown sources

  1. On Fire TV: Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install unknown apps → turn ON for Downloader.
  2. On Android TV: Settings → Apps → Security & restrictions → Unknown sources → enable for Downloader.

2. Grant storage permission

The first time you open Downloader it asks for permission to access files on your device. Choose Allow.

3. Install an APK with a URL

  1. Open Downloader.
  2. Type the URL of the APK or website into the address field.
  3. Press Go, wait for the download, then press Install.

4. Install an APK with a code

  1. Open Downloader.
  2. Type a download code (for example 1971235) into the address field.
  3. Press Go — the file downloads and the installer opens automatically.
